D2 SHOOTS SHAKE UR BODY

The eloquent and admirably duo now known as D2 is committed their new prject, Duke explains that this is a new project from D2 formerly known as Dadabees. We strongly believe in this and we hope our fans will like this new album.
The 2-man D2 is a good commercial idea, and these young lads do have vocal and dance appeal. The style of hit music is here, and their tunes have the melodies that linger in your memory after ‘pressing playing’.
However, listening to such tracks as ‘Chop Ur Money’, ‘God Dey’ and ‘Shake Ur Body’ demonstrates these young boys do have talent. And now shooting the video for Shake ur body by Kwesi from OM studious. Shake ur body is from the Album, GOD DEY and expected to hit ur screens by early 2011. Below are some of the video pixels. Its D2 baby. WATCH OUT.

JOY FM NIGHT WITH THE STARS

Finally, the Accra International Conference Centre gets set to host the glitterati of Ghana’s music world at the 2010 edition of the Joy FM Nite with the Stars, come Friday.

It has been a calculated wait by organizers, Super Hits Radio Joy 99.7 FM who also are announcing a new marriage with Expresso as new title sponsor.

Take a look at the array of star artistes billed for the night, all together representing an extremely intricate selection of some 15 of the country’s finest music giants; a true representation of the past, present and future.

Nakorex comes together as a group – after a long split, and there will be Ben Brako, George Darko and Wulεmei representing an exotic evergreen generation; followed by No Tribe, VIP, Lord Kenya, Obour and Castro as the in-group. Nana Boroo, R2Bees, Rough N Smooth, Iwan, Trigmatic, Efya, and Scientific, tagged as the veritable embodiment of the future of Ghana music.

A sizzling list of Ghana’s finest artistes all fired up to thrill at what is undoubtedly the biggest music fiesta of the year, you would say.

Over the years, the Night with the Stars has been acclaimed as the best and foremost music event in the country, the night when all other activities get obscured by the glitz and glamour patrons and artistes.

This year the entire enterprise honours Ghana’s celebrated Mac Tontoh of Osibisa fame, who passed on in August of this year. Last season celebrated the legendary pop star Michael Jackson who died in July 2009. And while there, look out for a big surprise as presenters from Joy FM put up a group act.

Trigmatic embarks on ‘The Trig High School Tour’

Trigmatic, known in real life as Nana Yaw Oduro, is on a campaign to give back to society the many blessings he has recived from music.

He is currently embarking on a tour dubbed The Trig High School Tour with the sole aim of inspiring Senior High School students in selected schools to aspire to high heights in life and to discover themselves.

The tour kick-started on November 13 and Trigmatic has already visited the Labone Senior High School in Accra and the Ghana National College, Cape Coast.

The next phase will take him to Wesley Grammar High School in Accra on December 3 and then later to the Adisadel College in Cape Coast.

During each tour, Trigmatic performs for the students and also gives a talk with an appeal to them to aspire to be whoever they want to be. He also uses the event to sell his CDs and merchandise at discounted prices.

Speaking in an interview with Myjoyonline.com Thursday, Trigmatic said the tour is part of his social responsibility as a musician to give back to society.

“It is part of my social responsibility as a musician to give back. It is my life that I want people to tap into,” he explained, adding that the tour will help students discover themselves and also know that apart from university education, they can make something out of themselves. He emphasised that “we are not the same so they should discover themselves and own themselves after Senior High School.”

He intends to reach as many schools between now and mid-2011 across the length and breadth of the country.

Trigmatic revealed that he has been selected by the United Nations to volunteer as an ambassador to help propagate their developmental goals.

In that light, he will embark on another tour in 2011 to help promote gender balance. He hopes to echo female empowerment through fashion, talks and music.

He also said he will be releasing an AIDS awareness song soon to help with his AIDS awareness project that he has been promoting for some time now.

Trigmatic is currently a student of the Central University in Accra pursuing Marketing. He also doubles as a radio presenter.

He is widely known for his songs such My life and My Jolly from his Permanent Stain album, his major commercial album after two other underground albums.
